| Dining at Arnaud's Restaurant |
I walked inside to see 6 waiters standing right at the door in suits wearing bow ties greeting me at the same time. Wow, why thank you! I think they really were by the door looking at the reservations to see how busy it was going to be for the night. :) I told the hostess it was for just one to dine. She advised me there were two places to choose from being a dining room with live music with an extra charge of $4 or the other side which was more casual and had no music. I'm in New Orleans for New Orleans, pay the $4 and bring it on! I was so happy to experience being somewhere to dine and hear jazz music!
The restaurant wasn't full as it was still early which was fine by me! If I ordered a glass of wine, I would have just passed out so I opted for a cup of earl grey tea. I ordered the set menu which was Shrimp Arnaud ( Shrimps with a hot creole sauce), Gulf Fish Amandine ( fish with almonds) and a slice of pecan pie! mmm Heaven! I fell in love with the ambiance! The jazz music just brought you back in time to long ago. The lights were dim. The furniture was full of antiques which I love love! This bistro/restaurant was so romantic feeling/looking and here I was dining alone! lol I still enjoyed it! I'm just saying it's a romantic place! :P
You could feel the presence of the past! There have been several incidents of ghost sightings reported in the establishment. Dou dou dou dou dou , the twilight zone! AHHHHHHHHHHH! LOL Love it! Well, I mean I love how it adds to the ambiance is taking you back to the past. I'm a bit scared to see and speak to entities. Not there yet!
The food was all delicious. YUM New Orleans! mmmmmm There is a lot of seafood in this city! It's heaven for seafood lovers! If you aren't a seafood lover, maybe not so much! lol It's interesting how many people actually don't like seafood. That's ok, more seafood for the seafood lovers! :P There really wasn't any more room for dessert, but somehow I managed to make it work! lol And then I was stuffed and even more ready to pass out. Until I saw the bright lights on Bourbon St. and decided to go for a walk!
