I walked to the Mississippi River in New Orleans. I was expecting lots to see, but it didn't seem there was much. I think this is where the Jazz Cruise Boats take off. I needed a picture since I was there, and asked a man having a cigarette. Was I disturbing his cigarette? I felt bad! Oh well, I need pictures! lol He took it and I thanked him. We walked back to the main street together. He was leaving New Orleans to go back to Pensacola, Florida by car and was looking for a place to eat. I was looking for a place to grab coffee because my eyes felt as though they were going to pop out of my head from not sleeping. lol We parted ways and then so happened to have bumped right back into each other on the road, with neither one of us having found food or coffee. ha ha Then we started talking and walking when we reached outside of St. Louis Cathedral. Shall we go in? Lets!

We then found a place to go for coffee to chat. You think I travel a lot once a month? Well my friend Luke I met travels 40 weeks a year for his job! That's a lot! He likes it! I wonder if that's something I'd like to do? I know I liked traveling/living abroad for a certain amount of time and then liked returning home. Now I like the way I have a vacation once a month. I feel once a month traveling still gives me a balance to have my life at home and still play abroad living out my travel dreams. It's works! :P
We walked through the French Market......................
And spotted some Louisiana Hot Sauce! Woo hoo! Gotta Love hot sauce!
We were walking through The French Market as it was closing. It reminded me of the markets in Australia. :)
We walked into a really cool store where I found some beautiful crystals and things I call " Universe" stuff. :) I even saw Voodoo dolls for sale. Can't really say I'm into Voodoo! I found out Voodoo is actually a mixture of West African religion and Catholicism. I thought it was just sticking needles in a doll and hurting people? Didn't you? Go figure!!! I never knew there was this big Voodoo lady named Marie Laveau who was known as the Queen of Voodoo who was from New Orleans. She was loved by a lot and dreaded by a lot. I would have like to have gone to her cemetery, but I was running against time. People go and put there hands to her grave and make a wish. hmmmm, it all happens for a reason. I didn't get a chance to research it while down, but definitely will now that I am back.
We walked a bit more together and said our goodbyes. He had a long drive to Florida and I wanted to sleep and eat, or just sleep not having slept from my plane ride over. It was lovely spending some time with hima nd learning about his life. I didn't get the same vibe as the man in the suit rubbing turtles chocolate on my camera who asked me to walk to the river :P
Next stop: Dining at Arnaud's!!! :P
glad that my bofriend is still so nice to people when he travels :)
ReplyDelete:) It's nice to be nice! This guy was single. He was actually engaged once. He told me if he was with someone even something as simple as having coffee with a stranger he would feel guilty. Glad he was single and wanted to hang out for a bit. He was so nice!
ReplyDeleteIt is nice to be nice, however...Luke is currently my boyfriend and he has been for 6 and a half years! We were engaged and are still working on that. I am so sorry that he lied to you and obviously he lied to me.
